Choosing a dentist for your child is one of those decisions that feels small on the surface but really isn’t. You want someone who will be patient with you, transparent, and actually good with kids, because let’s be honest, not everyone is. You want an office that feels welcoming the moment you walk in, not sterile and intimidating. And most of all, you want a team that genuinely cares about your child, not just their teeth.

That’s exactly what we set out to build at SoCal Pediatric Dentistry, and we work hard to hold onto it every single day. We are a privately owned pediatric dental practice right here in Torrance, serving families across the South Bay from infants all the way through adolescence, including children with special needs. We’re not a corporate chain. There’s no revolving door of providers here. When you come to see us, you’re building a relationship with a team that knows your child’s name, remembers their last visit, and genuinely looks forward to seeing them grow up with a healthy smile.

What We Believe at SoCal Pediatric Dentistry

We believe that the foundation of good oral health is built early. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends preventive dental exams beginning at a child’s first tooth or by age one. That’s a recommendation we take seriously, because we’ve seen firsthand what early intervention and education can do for a child’s long-term oral health. When kids grow up understanding why brushing and flossing matter and actually enjoy coming to the dentist, it changes everything.

We emphasize preventive and conservative care above all else. Our goal is never to over-treat. We take time to explain what we’re seeing, walk you through your options, and make sure you feel confident about any decision you make for your child. If something can be monitored or managed with simple hygiene habits, that’s the conversation we want to have first.

We are committed to fostering trust, communication, accountability, and respect while ensuring every child and family feels supported. Our vision is to be the premier pediatric dental practice in the South Bay, known for compassionate care, innovation, and excellence. Through education, prevention, and exceptional service, we seek to inspire generations of healthy, happy smiles.

How We Approach Dental Care

A pediatric dental exam covers more than just a quick look at the teeth. We take a comprehensive approach during every visit to give you and your child a full picture of where their oral health stands.

Full Dental Assessment

During each exam, we evaluate your child’s teeth, gums, jaw development, and bite for any signs of concern. We look at how teeth are growing in, whether spacing is appropriate for their age, and whether there are any early signs of decay. Baby teeth can develop cavities quickly, and catching them early keeps treatment simple.

Digital X-Rays

For many patients, digital X-rays are part of the exam. We only take them when clinically appropriate, not as a routine add-on. Our digital system uses significantly less radiation than traditional X-rays and gives us a clear view of what’s happening between teeth and beneath the gumline, where visual exams alone cannot reach.

Guidance You Can Use at Home

We take time during every visit to discuss what we’re seeing and answer your questions. We also provide practical guidance you can apply at home between appointments, from brushing techniques to dietary habits that affect the risk of cavities. According to the  American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, children with poor oral health are nearly three times more likely to miss school due to dental pain. Staying ahead of problems through routine care is the most straightforward way to prevent that.

Our Roots in Community Service

Dr. Bri’s approach to dentistry didn’t start in a classroom. It was shaped by years of hands-on volunteer work and international outreach. Through the NYU Global Outreach Program and Ayuda Dental Community Service Group, she provided dental care to children in Nepal, Nicaragua, Grenada, Belize, Mexico, and Costa Rica, as well as right here in the underserved areas of Los Angeles and Orange County. Those experiences reinforced something we already believed: that every child deserves quality dental care, and that the way you treat a child in the chair shapes how they feel about their health for the rest of their life.

That commitment to serving others has never left us. It shows up in the way we approach every appointment, every family, and every child who sits in our chair, whether it’s a routine cleaning or something that takes a little more time and care.
